The Juut team from Minnesota gathered this summer at Minnetonka High School to pack food for Kids Against Hunger, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to end starvation and malnutrition-related diseases. First, we had a lot of fun wearing jeans at Juut one day a week in June and July to raise money to buy the food to pack. Casual for a cause, we like to say. Then people from all 7 Minnesota salons and our home office volunteered one summer day to pack the food for kids who need it most. We raised $3000 and were able to pack enough food to feed a village of 100 people for a whole year!

What exactly is included in these meals you ask? High-quality rice, fortified soy, dehydrated veggies, and vitamins. Each bag we packed contained six servings of dehydrated food that will serve six children all the vitamins and minerals they need in a day.
We had a great day spending time together and making a difference. Check out our Facebook Fan Page to see the photo album from the day. To learn more about Kids Against Hunger and how you can form your own packing party, visit www.feedingchildren.org or call (866) 654-0202.
